This problem is common with many users who try to install a local server on their computers using the Xampp program From Apachefriends. Now this is the solution:
- Click start
- Click control panel
- Choose Add and remove programs
- Click turn off windows features
- Uncheck all the check boxes associated with IIS
- Restart Your Computer
- Xampp's apache shoul now work for you.
